Pope Benedict XVI will travel to Portugal in May 2010 to visit the world-famous shrine to the Virgin Mary at FATIMA. The pope will celebrate Mass at FATIMA on 13 May 2010, which is the 92nd anniversary of the date in 1917 when three shepherd children reportedly saw, and heard prophecies from, the Virgin Mary, the first of six reported apparitions that followed over the next six months’.

Ros and Den, previously from Gloucestershire, welcome you to ‘Casa Rosden‘, our affordable and comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation with beautiful 10m x 4m swimming pool, set in the peaceful village of Cochões, in the area of Sâo Pedro, close to the World Heritage Knights’ Templar city of TOMAR, in Central Portugal.
Our self-catering holiday accommodation, which is strictly non-smoking indoors, is a Studio, in our Annexe building, set in the grounds of our main house, but completely private and self contained. It is suitable for couples who are looking to explore the ‘beauty’ of ‘Rural’ Central Portugal, relax and unwind and for those who are hoping to find their own ‘Holiday Hideaway’ or ‘Retirement’ home, here in the heart of Portugal.
New for 2010 we will also have a Private Double non-smoking room, with free WIFI internet access, in our main house here at Casa Rosden, ideally suited for those short house-viewing trips with local agents in TOMAR. The room, overlooking the pool, will have a double bed, Fitted wardrobes, Table & Chairs, TV, fridge & kettle with complimetary Tea/coffee/milk provided. The room is En-suite with a shower cabinet, basin and WC. Hairdryer supplied. Wine glasses will also be available for those celebrations…… and a ‘complimentary’ continental breakfast will also be included in the daily rate of just €40 per room, per night ( min 2 nights ) Facilities will of course extend to use of our outside, undercover BBQ, Microwave, washing machine, terraced dining/seating areas, and to our beautiful 10m x 4m swimming pool, with sunbathing terrace and sunloungers.
Casa Rosden is located very close to TOMAR, in Central Portugal and just an easy hour to hour and a half away by car, from the capital Lisbon and it’s airport, or around two and a half hours from Porto. If it is more suitable, there is an excellent train service, from either Lisbon or Porto airports, to nearby TOMAR or Entroncamento stations, in Central Portugal.

Why not spend a day at Portugal’s largest caves, Mire de Aire, or visit the Dinossaur Footprints and the Gothic Monastry at Batalha. Not forgetting of course the World heritage Knights’ Templar castle here in TOMAR, the list is endless………………And Casa Rosden is perfectly situated for visiting all that Central Portugal has to offer.
When you return from a day’s sightseeing, you can relax at Casa Rosden, on one of our sunloungers by our swimming pool or sit in the shade, under the newly built Pergola with a glass of wine and enjoy the view of the lights accross the beautiful city of TOMAR, before sampling the food at one of the local Restaurants, just a few moments away, that we can personally recommend to you.
